Rail Benefits

Etihad Rail was formed in 2009 with a mandate to manage the development, construction and operation of the UAE’s national railway. The railway is being built to link the principal centers of industry, manufacturing, production, population and import/export points of the UAE, and will form a vital part of the planned GCC railway network.

Built to globally accepted standards, Etihad Rail’s state-of-the-art network will improve the way goods and people move, opening up new trade corridors and journey opportunities. Etihad Rail is being developed in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2021, which in turn contribute to economic diversification through strategic initiatives set to bolster UAE socioeconomic growth and diversification.

Creation of jobs for highly talented males and females related to the railway.

Reduction in CO2 emissions and Nitrogen Oxides(NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM10).

Overall reduction in transportation costs in the long run.
